From as early as she could remember, Melanie’s world was filled with creativity. Even as a a very young child, she transformed and hand sewed, mismatched socks into little ponies, repurposed plastic bags into water beds for her Cabbage Patch dolls, and transformed storage sheds into trading posts and haunted houses to entertain her young neighbourhood friends—playful experiments that hinted at a remarkable future in design.
Her passion led her to study art and design at university, where she refined her natural talent and vision. Melanie then made her mark as a successful graphic designer, using her keen eye for detail and innovation to bring ideas to life. Not one to shy away from new challenges, she founded a business dedicated to designing one-of-a-kind boardroom and dining room tables crafted from fallen trees—a tribute to her commitment to sustainability and creative repurposing.
Today, Melanie enters a new chapter that’s closest to her heart. Whether she’s transforming a living space through Thrifted Charm Interiors or designing and hand-stitching, fashion pieces from upcycled textiles, her work is united by a singular mantra: every piece of design, no matter its form, carries a story of reinvention.
